This was a pretty straightforward assignment where we were asked to draw a picture of an ear. The secondary goal for it was to try to get the skin to look as natural as possible. This may not be the most moving image I’ve ever created, but I really like how realistic it turned out to be. It is, in fact, my own ear, and when I look at it I actually recognize it as my own ear. Though the assignment may have been to draw an ear, I actually think the most interesting aspect of the drawing is the hair around the ear. The highlights and dark contrasting shadows turned out to look very natural and accurately capture the sun washed image I used as a reference.
